Our Favorite Fun Fall Activities to Enjoy With Your Baby

Our Favorite Fun Fall Activities to Enjoy With Your Baby

If you’re living with a newborn (or an older baby…or a toddler!), you’ve probably been looking forward to fall. Now that we’re through the super hot months of summer, it’s actually possible to get outside and enjoy what this season has to offer! To get you started, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite autumn activities. Here’s everything there is to love about fall, and some great ways to enjoy it with your little one.

Take a Nature Walk

What better way to introduce baby to the beautiful colors, patterns and sounds of fall than with a nature walk! Talk to your little one about the changing foliage, crunchy leaves, and chirping birds. You’ll be having as much fun as she does! If temperatures are dipping, make sure to bring your Covered Goods®—it’s the perfect stretchy car seat cover for baby in the stroller, and our flexible opening means she won’t miss anything! So many of our customers also use our covers as a lightweight blanket…perfect for those walks when it’s cool, but not quite cold. With one product doing the job of four, you’ll find your diaper bag is SO much lighter (and your walks are SO much easier).

Help Baby Touch and Feel

Fall is the perfect time for baby to start experiencing different textures! Crunchy leaves, cool rocks and slippery grass provide fun sensations for her. Use your Covered Goods® nursing cover as a blanket, and let baby sit directly on the ground. She’ll love being so close to everything that’s fantastic about fall. Another option is to collect various items from the outdoors and create a sensory box for baby.

Visit an Apple Orchard

Is there anything more fall than an apple orchard? Apple picking, or even just a casual stroll through an orchard, can be so much fun (not to mention the doughnuts and cider). It’s  also the perfect opportunity to talk to baby about different colors, textures, and sounds. Plan an afternoon and take it all in! Don’t forget to bring applesauce for baby (so she can “sample” some fruit herself). And if you’re feeling extra ambitious, stock up on apples and make your own applesauce or baby food. We've done it—it’s surprisingly easy!

Taste the Flavors of Fall

Is your baby old enough to start on solids? Fall is a good time to experiment with different foods and flavors! Apple sauce, butternut squash, pears and sweet potatoes are all perfect (and very seasonal!) first foods. And autumn is a great time to eat out. The temperatures are finally a little cooler, making outdoor patios comfortable for baby! Just don’t forget to pack your multi-use nursing cover…you can use your Covered Goods® nursing cover as a breastfeeding cover up if baby’s still nursing, and (of course) it’s the ideal high chair cover.

What are you looking forward to this fall? We’d love to hear about the activities and outings you’ve planned with your little ones. Share in the comment section and spread the love!
